Greed - A sin or not??

Greed in every religious scripture is considered to be a vice. Infact most of them have put greed among the top seven vices. And this word greed always threw lot many questions in my mind.

Greed for money is a vice. I fully agree, greed for money is one of the biggest causes of immorality among masses currently. But what about our hindu scriptures guiding us to perform Lakshmi puja? On a discussion with my guru once I was explained that Lakshmi puja is not just for hoarding and earning huge money. It’s a puja done to please the goddess and bless us with good health and money, that’s just enough for our needs. The puja is done to ask her to bless us with enough money so that we need not have to go begging, so that we have enough to take care of our basic needs.

Science and God.

It has come to my thoughts many a times, how come science could not find God even after doing so many researches? I realized the reason much later. Science states our world started after the big bang. But what about the time period before this big bang? What science is yet to do is to study the forces of life, the Consciousness!

Saints of every religion and era took the path to study this very force, the force which was there even before this universe came into being, which is ever present and above all. This force we call as Consciousness, it’s the supreme force. Study and deep knowledge of this force led them to the conclusion that do exist a force, the Reality (God) who is the source of all creations.

Sanyasa & Brahmacharya in true sense!

It’s a very wrong conception that Brahmacharya means vow of celibacy to control the reproductive indriyas. That part is there but in total it means, control of all senses in thought, word and deed so as to attain Self-Realisation. To reach the state of Supreme Peace, the path begins from Brahmacharya or purity.
Abstinence, the practice of oneself from indulging in something deeply, is the foundation to attain Moksha. This foundation needs to be strong to attain the goal in life. If your mind is agitated by evil thoughts, you cannot reach the summit of Sadhana.

Thought process do have direct link to Healthy Life.

I have heard from many spiritual books and gurus about immortal being present in the Himalayas. Our scriptures tell in details about immortal souls like Bhairav, Hanuman, Ashwatthama and many such siddhas. How can I forget Mahavatar Babaji Maharaj, who is said to be still there in the Himalayas, immortal, and do come to our aid when one surrenders to him.

Many modern research aimed at investigating aging process and death have also come to a conclusion on basis of research done till now, that aging is more of a disease and death not an inevitable process. Gradual reduction of body organs causes aging and finally death. If the process of cell renewal is kept intact human being can be kept not just alive but also healthy for long period. Death is not something I have ever thought of negatively. But keeping healthy till the last day of my life, not to lose the active life at old age, fighting fatal diseases be it in any age, that’s what has always kept me thinking deeply.
